Sewing | How to top thread brother A150 sewing machine

Hi everyone, my name is Michele.

In this video, I am going to demonstrate to you how to top thread Brother’s A150 sewing machine.

I will pick up from where I ended in the previous video.

If you haven’t watch, please click on the link on the top right to watch.

So, over here I have my thread in the spool pin,

Then I will remove the thread from the bobbin thread guide & pretension disk,

and swing it under the thread guide cover.

Over here.

Then guide it along the gap next to the thread guide cover.

and swing it across to the gap on the left next to it, going upwards.

When I reach the top, I hook the thread onto the thread take up lever then guide the thread down.

This is also the part I will rethread or redo when I have top thread tension problems.

When I have tension problems, I remove the thread all the way until the Thread guide cover.

then I rewind the spool of thread.

I redo the whole threading process, but this time adjusting the tension dial to 9 for looser or 0 for tighter.

When in doubt, just set it to the recommended tension around 3-5 and adjust from there.

Sometimes I tug the thread back and forth at this gap to test out the tension difference between 0 & 5.

Go ahead and hook it over the Thread take-up lever and guide the thread towards the needle.

Tuck the thread into the needle bar thread guide, and into the

notch at the threader thread guide then threader thread guide disk.

In order to thread the needle automatically, just press the lever on the left most of the machine.

All I have to do is to pull out the end of the thread and tuck it under the presser foot.

Let’s test sew.

Press the grey start/stop button to begin sewing.

You can adjust the speed on the speed slider.
