Sewing | Setting up A150, Bobbin winding and Automatic threading

So before I set up let me read the manual.

The manual package comes with 3 documents.

The first one I have here is a book of sample projects.

I can do with this sewing machine.

Second one I have here is a set up guide.

3rd one is a list of all the parts that comes with the machine

Last one I have here is the operation manual.

Now lets begin our set up with this quick reference guide.

There are two pages to the quick reference guide.

First page is how to set up the bobbin.

Second page is on how to set up the sewing thread.

Let me start with setting up the bobbin.

Let me plug in my machine and power it up.

Then I remove all the safety tapes that keep the loose parts together.

Remove the styrofoam protection.

Sliding it out towards me slowly.

I found some presser foot hidden inside this compartment in a bag.

and I tested sliding the whole compartment out

So that I can remove all the blue safety tapes.

I will need to lift the presser foot to remove this piece of paper.

Now let me refer back to the quick set up guide.

Turn to the page with the bobbin symbol at the top right corner.

I am going to start from step 1 to step 17. Let’s begin.

Step 1: Pull the lever to the right to open the cover.

I am taking out the bobbin so that I can fill it up with thread.

Cover back up the bobbin compartment.

Push the bobbin into the holder and push it towards it’s friend on the right.

Step 2: Lift the thread holder and remove the cover on top.

Slide in a spool of thread and put the cover back on.

Pulling the thread towards where the arrow is pointing.

While at it, guide the thread into the hook on the left where the arrow is pointing.

That is step 3 done.

Step 4: Slide it under this plastic the arrow is pointing.

Run it behind the “r” shaped metal.

Pulling it towards the left, under the metal disc.

Once under the metal disc, pull it to the right.

Let me do it one more time without annotations with one swift action.

Step 5: Wind the shorter end of the thread clockwise around the bobbin.

Tuck the end of the thread under this plastic hook, where the arrow is pointing and pull to cut it.

Now adjust the speed of winding with this slider,

And press start here.

Winding begins,

press the start button again to stop it.

Cut the thread with a cutter and remove the bobbin.

Step 10: Lift the needle if it has been lifted by pressing this button.

Step 11: Lower the presser foot.

Step 12: Lock all buttons by pressing this .

Step 13: Lift the presser foot back up again.

Step 14: Open up the bobbin cover by pulling this button to the right.

Put in the bobbin we prepared, pulling the thread to the left.

Tuck the thread under the plastic hook the arrow is pointing.

Under the next one the arrow is pointing, and cut it off at the last corner.

Put back the bobbin cover.

Unlock all buttons.

This ends the 17th step in the bobbin set up guide.

Let’s set up the machine for sewing.

Turn to the next page and check the symbol is a spool of thread.

Step 2: Lift the needle, if not yet lifted by pressing this button.

Check that the line on the knob is facing upwards.

Step 3 & 4: Lower the presser foot and lock all buttons.

Step 5: Raise the presser foot

Step 6 & 7: I have already placed in a spool of thread so I am going to skip step 6.

And I will remove the thread from the metal disc and

And slide the thread along the gap next to it.

Up and behind the metal hook the arrow is pointing now.

Pulling towards the left of the gap and down again.

Step 9, 10 & 11

Place the thread behind the metal hook the arrow is pointing.

Into this nook here, where the arrow is pointing.

Sliding it into the slit where the arrow is pointing now

Then cut the thread where the arrow is pointing on the left side of the machine.

Now, let’s do the automatic threading step.

Lower the presser foot.

Press the lever

It’s automatically threaded

Let’s watch it again for the fun of it. I done about you but I am really amazed at this function.

Finally lift the presser foot and unlock all buttons again.

Thats all for the setting up video. Next video I will be exploring what I can do with this machine!
