M5_05 | How to use move behavior in Motion 5
Motion 5 | How to use move behavior in Motion 5
Hi everyone, my name is Michele
And in today’s Motion 5 tutorial,
I’ll be sharing with you how to move an object using basic motion under Behavior.
And let’s add in an object.
You can add in a geometrical shape.
Or a line.
Or you can draw anything with your pen.
Or tablet.
Let’s say I draw a blob of cloud.
Hi everyone, my name is Michele
Using my mouse, so it’s not so smooth.
But then we can go to geometry and make it smooth.
But then we can,
Using roundness you can round up all the edges.
and close it up, ok!
Ok, now we’re going to make this cloud….
Ok, let’s change the style of the cloud.
Make it fill white.
Outline……..
Let’s make it gradient…
Slightly blue…..
and…..
white.
and then change the gradient to radial gradient.
and then….
feather it out….
And then I want to switch the whites to be on the left.
the white colour to be on the outside….
And the blue colour to be on the inside.
Let’s switch it by….
I think it’s this one…yup!
nope…
Yup!
This is the transparency level..
Opacity is 100….
Then….
Starting point is…
Let’s lower the starting point…
The ending point we want it to be further….
Feathered more…..
Ok, now we have our cloud here…
I’m going to duplicate the cloud.
and change the size…..
So that it looks like a bunch of clouds that’s drifting towards the left…..
I mean towards the right.
and change the size…..
So the smallest cloud I want it to be a bit transparent….
Let’s change our background to white….
Background colour you can change it at under project…
Layer…
and then go to properties…
And then go to background colour..
Double click on it…
and pick the colour you want.
have to drag and drop the colour into the colour well.
Now we have our clouds…
Slightly too transparent now…..
Ok, now let’s move our clouds slowly to the right…
Ok, we move the biggest cloud…
Go to behaviour, basic motion,
and then go to move…
And then you will see an origin point here.
In the middle of the drawing….
and when you press play…
The clouds will move towards the origin point….
But we don’t want it to move to the origin point….
We want it to move…
Let’s see where our Y position of the cloud is…
Y position you can read by…
Go to properties…and then go to position…
and then you can see the Y position here..
That means it is about 140…
And then we will put it as 140.
Then we go to move….we don’t want the Y position to change…
So we’ll….
It was 140 yeah, so we’ll type in 140…
Then we want it to go to….
about 1200 at the X ruler.
1200, that means about here…
1200 in X..
1200…
So let’s press play..
So it will move across the drawing board towards this point….
Alright?
For the next cloud….We’ll do the same thing..
We’ll go and check the Y position…
That means the Y position here..
The position is about 400..
Give it an absolute number (whole number)
And then at the end….
we want it to move to…basic motion…
to….
what was it again? 400?
Move to 400…
1200…
So let’s watch the clouds move…
Yes, it’s moving towards 1200…
1200 over here at the X ruler..
So right now, we’re going to go to paint(rename) the cloud, the largest cloud….
Call it cloud 1…
1…
This is cloud 2….
Now we’ll animate cloud 3….
and then cloud 4….
K, we have already renamed all our clouds, rename it so that it’s easier to identify..
And then cloud 3 is this one….
So we’ll check the Y position…
Y ruler position is about…
The anchor point is in the middle of the cloud..
It’s about 236..
So we’ll….230 then…
Give it an absolute number(round number) so that it’s easier to key in when we move it..
Basic motion.Move.
Let’s type in 230..
and your origin point will immediately snap to 230…
And then we want it to go to 1200.
Off the canvas..
So we’ll slowly move there…
and then the next one the same thing…150…
Give it an absolute number(round number)
And when we move it..move…
We want it to stay at that height…
150 height…
and only move on the X axis..X ruler…
So let’s give it 1200…
So it will move towards 1200…
So its a bit too constant.
Let’s change the speed.
Let’s go to move, behaviour, speed, behaviour, maybe give it decelerate…, accelerate…
and then the one that’s furthest away make it decelerate…
Decelerate means going slower…
So let’s test it out…
Still to fast..
So….Move…
Give it a 0.1 strength..
Speed up testing mode…
And that’s how you can move objects or shapes using basic motion under Behaviours..
I’ll see you in the next tutorial…
