KIT_08 | Maggi mee as breakfast
Noodles | Maggi mee and egg as breakfast
Good morning everyone!
Today I’m cooking maggi mee for breakfast.
Would you like to join me?
Today I’m cooking the curry flavour which I prefer.
Let’s begin!
I start by boiling a pot of water.
Then, mix in the flavouring packet from the noodle packaging.
which contains some spices and the usual MSG suspects.
It’s only a little spicy, not too bad on a cool morning.
Once the flavoured powder has dissolved in the water,
I like to break up the maggi noodles into smaller chunks so that it’s easier for me to eat.
There’s just less work involved when eating.

Give it a quick stir so that the noodles cook evenly.

Eventhough maggi mee claims their noodles cook in 2 minutes. I never time it.
I cook by feeling like most Malaysians. Why stress over instant noodles.
Sometimes I add in more ingredients like green veggies.
to make sure I don’t get constipated this way.

Give it a good stir.

Then cover it and bring it to a boil.

Once it’s boiling,
I break in an egg.
Then I turn off the fire and let the residual heat poach or steam the egg.
After 2 minutes, I have soft noodles ready to eat.
the egg is creamy on the inside and soft on the outside.
It doesn’t matter if the noodles are overcooked but the egg has to be perfect.

To accompany my noodles I’ll always make English breakfast tea. The one with yellow label.
Brew it for a few minutes in my favourite cup.
few minutes later,
1 teaspoon of sugar.
And a dash of milk.
And that my friends is my typical Malaysian breakfast. A quick and filling one.
Paired with a hot cup of sweet milk tea.
Time to enjoy my breakfast!
