FCP_01 | Synchronise audio and video
Final Cut Pro | Synchronise audio and video
Hi Everyone, this is a short video on how to
Synchronise your external recorded audio to your camera clips in Final Cut Pro X.
This is the audio file I have recorded using my mic and
And these are the short clips with the same audio content but will lower quality.
Right now, I’m going to combine this audio file and the video files
using a built in function in Final Cut Pro.
Then I can remove the audio content from my clips a
and replace them with the external audio file I have recorded with my mic.
Let’s select the files we want to combine or synchronise.
Press Cmd and Click on the files you want to use.
Let’s say I am going to only use this audio file with these 3 video files to keep the demo shorter.
After selecting, go to Clips at the menu bar, then go to Synchronise Clips.
A pop up dialogue box will appear for you to type in a name
for the new file it will create after synchronising.
Type in a name that’s easy to identify and press enter.
Final Cut Pro will start analysing the wave forms of all the files and match them accordingly.
Wait for it to synchronise, and then just like that, a new file will appear at the Media Browser on your left.
And you can double click on it to view the result,
look at how well Final Cut Pro has matched the wave forms.
Now all that’s left to do is to turn off the audio from the camera and exit editing this new Clip.
By clicking on this arrow here.
Now we can drag and drop this file to our timeline and edit it as necessary.
That’s all for this tutorial, I’m Michele, signing off and I’ll see you in the next video.
